In the Municipalities of Panglima Estino/Kalingalang Caluang, and Panamao/Talipao in Sulu, longstanding family disputes have finally found resolution through the concerted efforts of key stakeholders in Sulu province, BARMM. The settlement was culminated on April 27, 2024.
On the morning of April 27, two opposing families from the Municipalities of Panamao and Talipao officially put an end to their conflict at Brgy. Kamih Pungud, Panglima Estino, Sulu. Both parties solemnly pledged their commitment upon the holy Qur’an and signed an agreement to resolve their differences.
Later in the day, another pair of families from Panglima Estino and Kalingalan Caluang Sulu achieved reconciliation, marking the conclusion of a nearly five-year family feud. During the ceremony, both families embrace and shake hands, symbolizing their genuine dedication to the reconciliation agreement and their mutual endeavor to foster tranquility and cooperation within their community. The reconciliation ceremony was held in Barangay Punay, Panglima Estino, Sulu.

These successful reconciliations underscore the power of collaboration among various stakeholders namely the MPOS, Office of the BTA Member of Parliament Hamed Malik, Local Government Units (LGU) of Panglima Estino, LGU-Panamao, LGU-Kalingalang Caluang, MNLF – Assadullah Group, law enforcement agencies from AFP 21st IB, and Panglima Estino-Municipal Police Station (MPS), mediators’ groups, religious leaders, and community partners in addressing complex disputes. This collaborative endeavor to achieve rido settlement, aimed at nurturing a harmonious environment within the Sulu province. Furthermore, rido settlement activity stands as a pivotal initiative of the Ministry, prioritizing the promotion of security and safety within the Bangsamoro region.
