Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) organized a series of “Community-Based Information Drives on Public Order and Safety” on various communities in the region during the Holy Month of Ramadan which commenced on April 9, 2023, in Pikit, North Cotabato, and concluded on April 17, 2023, in Cotabato City.
The program engaged more than 500 individuals and community members from law enforcement agencies, local government units, as well as members and representatives from the sectors of youth, women, religious and traditional leaders.
This initiative provided a secure environment for sharing the message of Islam as a religion of peace while enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of peace, public order, and safety, as well as to gain insight into the Ministry’s mandate, mission, and services.
Mr. Bhenhar Ayob, Development Management Officer V- Designate expressed his sincere gratitude to all participating communities for the conduct of the information drive activities in promoting peace, public order and safety. “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘶𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘜𝘬𝘩𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘩 𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘺𝘢𝘩 (𝘐𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘥), 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴. 𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘪𝘵𝘰,” he said.
PCPL Fahad H. H. Jamal of Marawi City Police Station also shared their initiatives in promoting peace and public safety in their respective police station. “𝘓𝘢𝘺𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘨𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 [𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚] 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘰𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥. 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘱𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨-𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘰𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥,” he said.
The following dates and venues were the advocacy activities that were carried out: April 2 in Cotabato City; April 9 in Pikit, North Cotabato for the Bangsamoro Special Geographic Areas; April 11 in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur; April 13 in Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur; April 14 in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte; April 15 in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte; April 15 in Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte; and April 17 in Cotabato City.
During one of the sessions, Ustadza Anisa Taha from the Bangsamoro Women’s Commission emphasized the crucial role of women in promoting a culture of peace within the household, stating, “𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘑𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘥, 𝘢 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘥, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳’𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦.”
These community-based information drive activities were made possible through the Ministry’s CLEAR Program as well as the facilitation of the Ministry’s Home Affairs Services – Law Enforcement Coordination Division (HAS-LECD). This is an effort to ensure and maintain the peace, safety and public order of the Bangsamoro region.
