The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in partnership with the Office of Former Member of the Parliament, now Provincial Governor of Maguindanao del Norte, Hon. Abdulraof Macacua, facilitated a peacebuilding training to sixty (60) vulnerable combatants. The said peacebuilding intervention includes peacebuilding training, workshops and provision of financial assistance. Each vulnerable combatant received Php 30,000.00 (thirty thousand) pesos. The financial assistance was given to them on April 2, 2024 after the peacebuilding training on April 1, 2024 which took place at the Diamond Hotel Em Manor.

Additionally, Director-General of the MPOS, Atty. The participants underwent a series of lecture and discussion from esteemed resource persons on peacebuilding such as โJihad and Peacebuilding in Islamโ by Ustadh Habib Usman, Chairperson of Hayatul Ulama in the Philippines, Maguindanao Province, and โBuilding a Culture of Peaceโ by Mr. Guiamel Alim, Chairperson, Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society. Moreover, this activity became an opportunity for the participants to share their experiences and realities as former combatants. The Ministry hopes for them to become part of the โBantay Kapayapaanโ advocacy of the MPOS, partnering with them to sustain the gains of peace in their respective communities.
