The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) supported the end of a 20-year-old rido in Midsayad, North Cotabato, through a Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation kanduli held at the Nabalawag Elementary School, on October 15, 2022.
Before the kanduli, community leaders were in communication with the Ministry about the said conflict that involved families of three adjacent barangays of Mudseng, Nabalawag, and Kadingilan in Midsayap.
For many years, there has been a series of gunfights between warring factions, resulting in the loss of lives, property destruction, and the evacuation of innocent civilians. Numerous cases of murders related to the feud are also on record.
The Ministry worked on negotiating with the involved people in the above-mentioned clan feud (Rido) and an agreement between the two clans was crafted accordingly.
The Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Kanduli were witnessed by BTA Committee on Public Order, Security, and Safety Chairperson MP Suwaib L. Oranon, MP Bassir Utto, MP Tawakal Midtimbang, MP Mujib Abu, Midsayap Police Station representatives, Armed Forces of the Philippines, SGA Administrator Butch Malang, Ad Hoc Joint Action Group (AHJAG) representative, Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH) representative, MILF, BIAF Base Commanders, and also local commanders from different Base Commands, barangay officials, religious and sectoral leaders, and more than a thousand spectators.
