Cotabato City, BARMM| In a joint effort to enhance the ability of communities and individuals to anticipate, adapt to, and recover from various types of crises in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) and the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), to strengthen the Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) structures of the region which are critical in managing crises effectively. By improving the resilience and EWER skills of the communities, the MPOS and NP hope to mitigate the negative impacts of crisis. The MOU signing was held on March 6, 2023 at MPOS office.
MPOS Director General Atty Al-Rashid L. The MOU solidified the commitment of NP and MPOS to work together for the public safety and protection of civilians by empowering, engaging and linking the local EWER structures in the community.
NP, in turn, thanked MPOS for its continuous support in conflict resolution and community development. Overall, the partnership between MPOS and NP through the MOU seeks to promote a more resilient and peaceful Bangsamoro region by enabling communities and individuals to provide timely conflict monitoring reports, early warning and early responses that can save lives, reduce damage, improve preparedness, and enhance community resilience.
