The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), conducted a ceremonial turnover of the Butig Tourism Vehicle to the Local Government Unit of Butig, Lanao Del Sur on March 20, 2023 at Go Hotels, Iligan City. This is part of the Butig Rehabilitation Program – an intervention of the MPOS to support the rehabilitation, rebuilding, and reconstruction of the conflict-affected Municipality of Butig, Lanao Del Sur, and funded through the Special Development Fund (SDF).
Present during the ceremony was the Mayor of the Municipality, Atty. Dimnatang L. Pansar. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the support extended by the Bangsamoro Government, such as the MPOS, and promised to compliment these efforts to demonstrate that they are worthy of those support. He also emphasized the significance of the Butig Tourism Development Plan (BTDP), an important component of the program of the MPOS for the municipality. The Butig Rehabilitation Program includes the ongoing construction of Multi-Purpose Building at Barangay Bayabao, Construction of Function Hall at Barangay Sandab, and Concreting of Lake Butig Access Road at Barangay Pendolonan, Butig, Lanao Del Sur; organizing and capacity development of the agro-fisheries cooperatives; and assistance to vulnerable institutions, such as Madrasahs in the most affected barangays of the municipality.
This program is part of the endeavors of the Ministry to achieve an enduring peace in the Bangsamoro under its mandate to implement programs related to peacebuilding, reconciliation, and unification.
