On March 13, 2023, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) held a Mapping and Consultation event for “Kambalingan (A Rehabilitation Program for Rido-Affected Communities)” at the Sitangkai Municipal Hall, Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.
The activity gathered key stakeholders, including the Municipal Mayor, members of the municipal multi-sectoral committee, representatives from the PNP (Sitangkai Municipal Police Station and 3rd MP, PMFC) and Philippine Marine (MBLT-12), and other concerned parties to address the issue of rido in the identified rido-affected communities.
During the discussion, the MDRRMO of Sitangkai facilitated the identification of rido-affected areas in the locality, including Sitio Bungin, Barangay Datu Puti, and Barangay Datu Baguinda in Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi.
Following the mapping and consultation, the Ministry will conduct a Focus Group Discussion and Key Informant Interview to document the evidence-based effects of rido on affected communities and serve as a reference in prioritizing rido-affected areas.
