On March 13, 2023, a 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 between feuding families in Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi was held, resulting in the faithful reconciliation of both parties. The deed of agreement was ceremonially signed by representatives from both parties.
Mayor Tiblan C. Ahaja expressed his happiness in seeing the families reconcile and return home without grievances. He said, “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴. 𝘞𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘘𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘳 (𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩). 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴, 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦. 𝘈𝘴 𝘢 𝘧𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱. 𝘞𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.”
The successful conduct of the rido settlement was the result of the collective and collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) Community Affairs Officers – Tawi-Tawi in partnership with the Provincial Government of Tawi-Tawi, Sitangkai Municipal Government, PNP-Sitangkai MPS, MBLT-12, and Association of Local Mediators in Tawi-Tawi, Inc. (ALMT Inc.).
Rido Settlement is one of the major activities of the Ministry under the “Alternative Dispute Resolution” program for the effective settlement of family feuds and other horizontal conflicts towards ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful Bangsamoro.
