Zamboanga City | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) distributed a cash assistance of Php 5,000 each to three (3) Former Local Insurgents on May 25, 2023, at the Western Mindanao Command in Zamboanga City. The cash aid was provided during the presentation of the surrenderers, organized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
During the event, LT. GEN Roy Galido expressed their optimism regarding the reintegration of the surrenderers into society, stating, “𝘚𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯, 𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘪𝘺𝘰 𝘱𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘣𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘺𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘣𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘵 𝘣𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘣 𝘴𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘴.”
Meanwhile, MPOS Director-General Atty. Al-Rashid L. Balt reassured the surrenderers that the financial assistance is just the beginning of their transformation journey. The provision of financial assistance is an integral part of the Ministry’s interventions for Former Local Insurgents (FLIs), representing an ongoing commitment to support their successful reintegration into their communities. MPOS is dedicated to standing by their side, accompanying FLIs on their chosen path towards peace.
