Talipao, Sulu | After ten years of a bitter feud between two clans, a historic amicable settlement was reached, putting an end to the rido conflict. On May 23, 2023, at the Municipal Hall in Brgy. Bilaan, Talipao, Sulu, both parties signed an agreement, symbolizing their sincere commitment to reconciliation.
The conflict, deeply rooted in the shared origin and bloodline of the two clans, has now been peacefully resolved. The signing of the amicable settlement not only brings an end to the feud but also signifies the beginning of a new era of unity for the involved clans, reuniting them as one big family.
With a mission to promote unity among the Bangsamoro people in BARMM, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) worked closely with local government officials, mediators, and peacekeeping agencies in Sulu province to ensure the successful resolution of the conflict. The efforts of Talipao Local Government Unit, led by Mayor Nivocadnezar I. Tulawie, and the Sulu Local Mediators, President Armidar Aramain and Councilor Mijan Hasim of Talipao, Sulu, were instrumental in making this settlement possible.
Mayor Tulawie expressed his heartfelt gratitude to MPOS and its partner local mediators for their unwavering support in resolving the rido. “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺’𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴, 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘈𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘩 (𝘚𝘞𝘛) 𝘨𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦. The peace agreement was sealed with a ceremonial signing and a handshake between the two parties. Present during the settlement ceremony were MPOS’ Community Affairs Officer III Al-Shameir H. Aminulla, PEMS Alkaisar Buclao representing the Talipao Municipal Police Station, Brgy. Chairman of Bud Bunga Tutung M. Robin, Brgy. Chairman of Dalih Kibar J. Pala, and other esteemed Talipao government officials.
