On June 25, 2023, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) successfully facilitated a rido settlement between two prominent families in Midsayap. The significant event took place in the Barangay Hall of Brgy. Kapinpilan, within the premises of Midsayap, Bangsamoro Special Geographic Area.
The settlement process was initiated by engaging the disputing parties in negotiations, facilitated through a series of coordinated efforts. This collaborative approach aimed to achieve a mutually beneficial agreement.
“𝘒𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚, 𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘰𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰,” a message of support expressed by Chief Executive Officer of UBJP Cluster 1 Midsayap Mr. Duma Mascud during the peaceful conduct of the rido settlement. BTA Member of the Parliament MP Kellie U. Antao, Al-Haj also expressed his support, saying, “𝘈𝘬𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘶𝘣𝘰𝘴 𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯. The successful conclusion of the prolonged and unresolved family feud was made possible through the combined initiatives and dedication of various stakeholders. These included the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Office of the Member of Parliament Mohammad Kelie U. Antao, the MILF Political Committee, Mr. Duma Mascud (Chief Executive Officer of UBJP Cluster 1 Midsayap), Mr. Nur-ali P. Alamada (AHJAG Representative), Mr. Datu Salik Karon, the Barangay Local Government Units, and other key individuals and organizations involved.
The signing of the peace settlement agreement was witnessed by the involved parties as well as other concerned individuals and groups. The ceremonial embraces were exchanged among the two parties to symbolize their freshly formed unity.
Rido Settlement is one of the major programs under the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program (ADRP) of the Ministry that aims to ensure a safe, secured, and peaceful Bangsamoro region.
