On June 26, 2023, the prolonged dispute involving two parties was resolved through the signing of a mutually beneficial comprehensive agreement during the rido peace settlement ceremony held in Barangay Mudseng, Midsayap, Special Geographic Area.
The ceremonial settlement fostering union among disputing parties to mitigate conflicts and violence in order to achieve peace and harmony was inaugurated at Mudseng Barangay Hall, Midsayap, SGA, and participated by involved parties with concerned individuals and groups.
“𝘞𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘢𝘥 𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘈𝘙𝘔𝘔,” said LTC Rey C. Rico INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 34IB, 6ID, PA, who also voiced his support for the rido peace settlement initiative undertaken by MPOS and its partners. The 34th Infantry Reliable Battalion, he states, is ready to assist and help the people of Midsayap, SGA, BARMM in support of their peace and safety.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Member of Parliament’s Office, Mohammad Kelie U. Antao, the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD), the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the Political Committee, the Barangay Local Government Unit, and other stakeholders in attendance expressed their support for community peacekeeping.
To mark the reconciliation and resolution of the conflict, the involved parties exchanged ceremonial handshakes, followed by a Mubayyah led by Shiekh Kamarodin Dudo. With this, the Ministry safeguards peacekeeping in the Bangsamoro areas through its initiatives addressing man-made calamities and community interventions, as well as other peace-related measures to strive for a safer and more peaceful Bangsamoro community.
