Pendatun (GSKP), Maguindanao del Sur (MDS) conveyed during the rido settlement ceremony of the twenty-one (21) year rido involving two families in their community. The ceremony was held on October 2, 2023 through the intervention of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS)- BARMM and the steadfast partnership efforts of the Local Government Unit of Sultan sa Barongis, MDS, and MILF-Political Committee of Sultan sa Barongis, MDS.

The rido was resolved through the signing of a comprehensive mutually beneficial agreement between the feuding families. To further symbolize the freshly formed union between the two families, a ceremonial hug and handshake were shared, followed by a lecture or Islamic Muhadarrah led by Ustadz Rajahmuda Dading, Chairman of MILF Political Committee of Sultan sa Barongis, MDS. Moreover, the settlement ceremony was also witnessed by respected religious leaders, local mediators from the community, and other concerned stakeholders.
Rido Settlement is a flagship activity of the MPOS through the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program, which envisions reducing feuds among families and champions reconciliation, and unification in order to attain peaceful community and sustainable development across the Bangsamoro region.
