On May 13, 2024, a significant rido settlement was achieved at the 45th Infantry Battalion in Sitio Camalig, Brgy Bohe Pahu, Ungkaya Pukan, Basilan. The rido, stemming from disputes related to Barangay Elections, started a decade ago involving numerous families and had widespread repercussions. The Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), Provincial and Barangay Local Government Unit of Basilan, law enforcement agencies, recognized local mediators and negotiators, and community stakeholders were instrumental in negotiating the settlement, marking a significant step towards lasting peace in Basilan.

He highlighted that true peace requires the active engagement and cooperation of all stakeholders to address and resolve conflicts constructively, demonstrating the vital role of unity and collaboration in fostering a stable and harmonious community.
At the ceremonial settlement, the conflicting parties formalized their agreement by putting it into writing and affixing their signatures, demonstrating their sincerity and commitment to the resolution. The rido settlement served as a cornerstone in fostering reconciliation and harmony among communities, aiming to address long-standing conflicts and promote lasting peace in the province of Basilan, BARMM.
