The Ministry of Public Order and Safety empowered a total of 41 local community members from the municipalities of Guindulungan, Datu Salibo, Datu Piang, and Datu Saudi through its Community-Driven Safety and Security Training Program held at the Nereland Resort and Event Place, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte last June 12-15, 2024.
The EWER program equips participants with fundamental concepts of Early Warning and Early Response, essential skills and protocols, and reporting and coordination mechanisms, enhancing their capability to swiftly identify and respond to potential conflicts within their communities. By fostering a sense of volunteerism, unity and responsibility, the training aims to strengthen local safety and security measures.

The Ministry’s collaboration with the International Organization for Migration, Magungaya Mindanao Incorporated, and Nonviolence Peaceforce underscores the program’s comprehensive approach. The EWER training spanned four days, supplemented by ongoing sessions to ensure continuous volunteer growth and development.
This event serves as a platform to delve into the program’s objectives, interact with EWER volunteers, and discuss the imperative role of community-driven safety and security.
