The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in collaboration with its peace partners successfully gathered a total of 127 community members in the Special Geographic Areas (SGA) for a dialogue to raise awareness on preventing horizontal conflicts specifically Nabalawag, Kadayangan, Kapalawan, and Old Kabacan through its series of Community-Based Advocacy on Preventing Rido held from October 7 – 10, 2024.
The series of activities tackled in-depth discussions on the causes of conflict, conflict resolution strategies, and the vital role of the community in preventing Rido.
MPOS Community Affairs Officer III, Basit Minandang elaborated how the role of the community is integral towards sustaining peace, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘪-𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰. The activity also gathered key peace partners of the Ministry ranging from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) such as the 34th & 90th Infantry Battalion as well as key Officials from the Municipal Local Government Units in SGA.
The collaboration between MPOS and its peace partners further reinforced the unwavering commitment and dedication of the Bangsamoro Government towards a peaceful, resilient, and progressive Bangsamoro.
