MPOS Strengthens Community Safety through EWER Roll-out in Talayan, MDS

𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣, 𝙈𝙖𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙎𝙪𝙧 | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) recently conducted a series of Community-Driven Safety and Security (CDSS) activities in three pilot barangays of Talayan, Maguindanao del Sur. These activities, held from November 22 to 23, 2024, focused on the roll-out of the Barangay Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) Structure in Barangay Damablac, Barangay Katibpuan, and Barangay Fukol.

The EWER Structure, a critical component of MPOS’s efforts to strengthen community safety and security, aims to empower barangay leaders and residents to proactively address local conflicts and threats. Through the implementation of EWER, communities can establish early warning systems, develop effective response mechanisms, and foster a culture of peace and cooperation.

During the CDSS events, MPOS representatives provided comprehensive training on the EWER framework, including conflict profiling, mapping, and reporting procedures. Participants were also equipped with the necessary tools and resources to establish and maintain EWER structures within their respective barangays.
