The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) successfully rolled out its Community-Driven Safety and Security (CDSS): Barangay Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) Structure initiative across six (6) barangays in Datu Unsay and Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Maguindanao del Sur.
The first roll-out was carried out in the Jaica Building in Datu Unsay that targeted the three (3) pilot barangays Meta, Iganagampong, and Malangog on November 26 followed by the two (2) pilot barangays of Datu Anggal Midtimbang specifically Nunangen and Katibpuan on November 27 and in Brar serving as the third pilot barangay on November 28, 2024.
Local leaders and government representatives voiced strong support for the initiative, acknowledging its value in improving peace and security in their areas. MPOS provided a detailed overview of the program’s rationale, mandates, and potential benefits to ensure a clear understanding among stakeholders.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the EWER Guidebook and Manual, which provides comprehensive guidance on volunteer recruitment, desired qualities in volunteers, reporting protocols, and operational structures. This essential resource ensures volunteers are well-prepared to uphold their responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the program’s success.
MPOS remains committed to further strengthening its partnership with local leaders and expanding the implementation of the EWER Structure to foster peace, security, and resilience across the region.
