Twenty-five (25) women local mediators from Maguindanao Provinces, Special Geographic Areas, and the City of Cotabato participated the recently concluded four-day capacity-building training entitled “Capacity Building for Community of Practice of Local Women Mediators of Maguindanao Provinces, Cotabato City, and Special Geographic Areas” on July 12–16, 2023, at Calla Hall, Paraiso Verde Hotel and Resort, Koronadal City. This is to strengthen the capacity and leadership skills of the Bangsamoro women as competent local mediators in terms of mediation, facilitation, negotiation, conflict resolution techniques and processes, and documentation, including profiling and reporting.
“𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘥𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯’𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦,” said Hon. Hussein P. Munoz, Minister of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety, in his opening message during the event.
The Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety, UN Women, Nonviolent Peaceforce, Relief International funding from German Federal Foreign Office, Embassy of Canada, and WPS BARMM joint effort project made the aforementioned training possible.

Furthermore, the participants expressed their gratitude to the Ministry and its partners for initiating the program, as it serves as a tool to minimize the conflicts that cause disturbance and destruction and to establish safe surroundings and a peaceful community. “𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯, 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘨-𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘣𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰. The Ministry recognizes the significance of women’s roles and representation in sustaining a safe and peaceful community. In addition, the Ministry through its “Intervention to Local Mediators” Program initiated this activity to encourage the active participation and involvement of Bangsamoro women in the process of achieving security, peace and order in the BARMM region.
