Twenty (20) provincial police officers from the Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) and PNP Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) underwent an intensive peacebuilding training of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) program under the Bangsamoro Peace Institute (BPI) on January 15-18, 2023 at Park Inn by Raddison Davao, Davao City. The activity was organized by the Ministry of Public Order and Safety’s Peace Education Division (PED).
The activity aimed to build a pool of peace advocates in the region that will sustain the peace initiatives in their respective communities and will be an active partner of the Ministry in establishing the peace initiatives of the Bangsamoro Peace Institute.
The training includes different peacebuilding topics and sessions on “Moral Governance”, “Bangsamoro Peace Process”, “Updates on Normalization and Decommissioning”, “Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Bangsamoro”, “The Police as Peacebuilders: A Reflection on Conflict-Sensitive Policing”, “Gender and Peacebuilding”, “Building a Culture of Peace and Cultural Sensitivity in the Bangsamoro” and the “Ministry of Public Order and Safety.”

The trainees were expected to be the forefront actors of peace, public order, and safety in their areas of responsibility as law enforcers. “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰.” said PLT Jon Cristopher Battung of Special Action Force (PNP-SAF), one of the cohort participant.
MPOS is optimistic in the continuous partnership of the Ministry with the law enforcement agencies in promoting peace and safety the Bangsamoro region.
