68 community volunteers underwent the Early Warning Early Response (EWER) Capacity Development Training through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) led by its Special Operations Division (SOD) with support from the Special Development Fund (SDF) at Barangays Barurao, Kulambog, and Masulot of the Municipality of Sultan sa Barongis, Maguindanao del Sur last December 14, 2024.
The SDF’s objective of fostering inclusive growth and strengthening community resilience serves as a primary foundation of this initiative, ensuring that the EWER Capacity Development Training not only address immediate safety concerns but also contribute to the long term well-being and stability of the Bangsamoro by integrating community-focused strategies.
One of the training’s key highlights was a workshop focusing on identifying and analyzing pending, active, and resolved cases within the barangays. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions, addressing ongoing challenges and drawing valuable lessons from past experiences. Additionally, the training culminated in the establishment of EWER structures tailored for each barangay, which will serve as the backbone for localized implementation of the system.
A Barangay Chairman and participant of the training expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘺 𝘦𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘴, 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. MPOS remains steadfast in its mission to foster sustainable peace and order in the Bangsamoro through its community-driven initiatives such as the EWER program. The successful training in Sultan sa Barongis marks another milestone in advancing this mission and strengthening the region’s capacity for conflict prevention and resolution.
