Davao City| The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), with support from SUBATRA, recently organized a workshop focused on the development of infomat (IEC Materials) to popularize Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) in BARMM (Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) Communities. The three-day event, held from May 23 to 25, 2023, took place at the Home Crest Hotel, Davao City.
The workshop shed light on the importance of implementing a localized CSOP approach in BARMM and emphasized the need to raise awareness and promote it within the local communities. Participants, who brought their expertise and recommendations to the table, played a pivotal role in formulating the outline of the infomat.
Key stakeholders, including representatives from the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM), Philippine National Police (PNP) PRO-BAR, Ministry of Interior and Local Government (MILG), and Civil Society Organizations, showcased their existing CSOP materials during the workshop. These materials will be instrumental in disseminating the concept of localized Community and Service-Oriented Policing in the Bangsamoro region.
Atty. Al-Rashid L. Balt, expressing his gratitude, commended SUBATRA for providing the funding necessary for this activity. “𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘨𝘢𝘱 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘮𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯. The said activity concluded on the motion to engage with a consultant with the support from subatra and formulation of a roadmap for popularizing the CSOP to the Bangsamoro communities. With this significant step forward, MPOS and its partners are determined to make a lasting impact on community policing in BARMM, ultimately contributing to the region’s overall development and security.
