On May 2, 2023, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) provided immediate financial assistance to six (6) former local insurgents (FLIs) during the “Presentation of the Victims of Terrorist Ideology and Circumstances” organized by the 1st Brigade Combat Team, Philippine Army. The activity was conducted at 1st BCT Brigade Support Area, Brgy. Pigcalagan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
On behalf of the Ministry, Peace Program Officer – IV Jonel S. Gedoria shared a message of support, saying “𝘒𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘱𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘭𝘢𝘭𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘣 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘴, 𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘪 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺-𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘳𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰 𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺𝘢.”
The financial assistance worth Php 5,000 to each FLIs is part of the Ministry’s commitment to extend the Bangsamoro Government’s peacebuilding intervention as well as encourage the former local insurgents to return to the fold of law.
Meanwhile, BGen. Leodevic B. The activity is a result of a successful collaboration of peace partners and stakeholders from the 1st Brigade Combat Team Philippine Army, MPOS, Local Government Units of Pigcawayan and Midsayap, and Philippine National Police.
