Bongao, Tawi-Tawi | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety spearheaded a community consultation on peace, public order and safety called “Mashuwara Kalilintad” in two island municipalities of Tawi-Tawi province, namely Bongao and Panglima Sugala. The activity was conducted to gather data and understand the recurring threats to public order and safety in the province so that appropriate intervention may be provided.
MPOS Community Affairs Officers in Tawi-Tawi in partnership with ALMTA, Inc. gathered multi-sectoral community leaders from women, youth, council of elders, religious leaders, local mediators, law enforcement agencies and barangay local government officials to share their knowledge and experiences. Present also from the Police Internal Affairs Services is Staff Sergeant Raisuli Laja, Investigator who contributed a lot in giving recommendations and strategies to strengthen community participation.
The Mashuwara Kalilintad was held in Bongao and Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi, on March 16 and 17 respectively this year 2022. Soon, similar activity, under the Ministry’s SAFE BARMM Program will also be conducted in other areas of the Bangsamoro.
