On December 1, 2023, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety in partnership with the Nagdilaab Foundation Inc. and key stakeholders organized an “Interfaith Dialogue.” This event, aligned with the Call of Mindanao Week of Peace 2023 for solidarity in action under the theme “A World Without Violence”. The activity was held at the Querexeta Formation Center in Lamitan City, Basilan.

The core objective of the interfaith dialogue was held to promote understanding, tolerance, and cooperation among different religious sectors of Basilan communities especially aiming to address issues related to peace and violence.
“𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘱𝘢 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘶𝘱𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯. 𝘒𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨-𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘢,” Nagdilaab Foundation Inc. Executive Director Miriam L. Suacito said.
The gathering drew a diverse assembly of around 100 individuals hailing from distinct sectors and organizations across Basilan. This is to foster dialogue and build bridges between people of different faiths in the province, to create a more peaceful and harmonious community.

Overall, the Interfaith Dialogue stands as a momentous occasion in nurturing co-existence and compassion among the diverse religious communities within the province of Basilan. The Ministry remains steadfast in its ongoing commitment to promoting peaceful dialogue towards cultivating a culture of peace and understanding among the people of Bangsamoro.
