Koronadal City | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) successfully hosted the 4th Bangsamoro Public Order and Safety Conference with the theme “Consolidating the Gains of Building an Enduring Peace,” highlighting collaboration among peace and security stakeholders. The activity was held at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill in Koronadal City from December 19 to 22, 2023.
MPOS’ Minister Hussein P. The conference aimed to enhance collaboration among regional stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, civil society organizations, and the relevant Bangsamoro Government Ministries. This conference was able to strengthen the coordination and reinforced the position of MPOS’ role with the law enforcement agencies in the region

𝘈𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩, 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.” Division Chief Bhenhar Ayob of the Ministry’s Law Enforcement Coordination Division offered a detailed overview of the conference’s goals and objectives.
During the conference, Regional State Prosecutor for BARMM Atty. Rohairah A. Lao from the Department of Justice shared a keynote message highlighting the importance of collaboration and cooperation among key stakeholders in ensuring peace and safety in the region. Officials and representatives from AFP, NAPOLCOM, PNP, BJMP, PDEA, BFP, PCG, MSSD, and MILG together with numerous Civil Society Organizations and International NGOs participated in the conference. They were able to share their respective programs, initiatives and insights on topics relating to family feuds (rido), horizontal conflicts, normalization, peace, security, public order and safety issues in the region.

On December 20, MPOS in partnership with the International Organization for Migration unveiled and presented its Conflict Reporting System (CRS) Manual, serving as the framework for the Community Early Warning and Early Response Guidelines of the Ministry. The manual is a result of extensive writeshops and consultations involving established civil society organizations actively engaged in implementing community early warning and early response mechanisms within their respective areas of responsibility in the Bangsamoro region.

The conference stood as a testament to the fervent commitment of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety to bolster coordination and collaborations among key peace and security stakeholders in the region, showcasing a dedicated effort toward achieving a safe and peaceful Bangsamoro.
