𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 | On May 15, 2023, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) and its key partners peacefully resolved a long-standing rido (family feud) between two families from Parang, Maguindanao del Norte. The settlement took place at the Municipal Function Hall in Barira, Maguindanao del Norte.
Both families held constructive discussions to address important matters and worked towards finding a mutually beneficial resolution.
During the ceremony, one of the involved family members expressed his aspiration as a result of this settlement, saying, “𝘎𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘳 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢-𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰.”
Several organizations collaborated to make this initiative a success, including MPOS, Municipal Police Station- Barira, 22nd Marine Company Philippine Navy, Iranun Reconciliation Council (IRC), Philippine National Police, religious leaders, and local mediators from the community. The combined efforts contributed to the peaceful resolution of the conflict and the promotion of unity within the region.
