Cotabato City | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) and Catholic Relief Services – United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (CRS-USCCB) agreed to work jointly and collaboratively in a formal partnership to advance the role of women in community-based early warning and early response, as well as the promotion of peace, sustainable development, reconciliation, unification and peaceful co-existence.
Both institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on March 6, 2023 at MPOS Conference room.
“𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘙𝘚-𝘜𝘚𝘊𝘊𝘉, 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘴, 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘙𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯”. CRS-USCCB Technical Advisor Myla J. Leguro said during the MOU signing ceremony.
The MOU aimed to strengthen and sustain the peace and stability in BARMM with the meaningful participation and decision-making of women in conflict prevention processes and responses as well as in decision-making. This includes the conduct of community-based peace dialogues, women-led early warning early response (EWER), and profilling of potential women community monitors in their respective areas of responsibility.
