Twenty-five (25) members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) voluntarily returned to the fold of the law. They were presented last June 13, 2025 by the 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division of the Philippine Army led by Commanding Officer LtC Udgie C. Villain Inf (GSC) PA.
As part of its continuous effort in peacebuilding, MPOS distributed Php 5,000 for each of the returnees. This is to help them in their community integration as civilians.
Ms. Sittie Janine Gamao, Chief of the Peace Education Division of MPOS was present during the event and she stated that, “𝘗𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘰 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘢𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚. 𝘋𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘦𝘯𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯, 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘰𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘣𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚. 𝘋𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘶𝘬𝘸𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘵𝘶𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰, 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘴, 𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘣𝘢.”
Meanwhile, the returnees were grateful for their acceptance by the government. One returnee shared that, “𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘶𝘬𝘰𝘳 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘶 𝘨𝘰𝘣𝘺𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘰 𝘬𝘢 𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘺𝘢, 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘶 𝘬𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘺𝘢 𝘯𝘶 𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘸𝘢 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪.”
