South Upi, Maguindanao | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) conducted its 24th Mashuwara Kalilintad: A Community Conversation on Public Order and Safety, held last at the Assembly of God Family & Fellowship Church in Barangay Kuya, South Upi, Maguindanao, on September 08, 2022.
Around 44 community leaders from the indigenous people, women, youth, and religious sectors participated in the consultation.
According to a participant, “Dekadang problema na ang kinakaharap at nararanasan namin. K𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘸𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘰𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘭𝘶𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘯. Naapektuhan na po ang aming kabuhayan at kaligtasan ng aming pamilya,” citing land conflict as one of the highlighted community problems.
The said activity gathered firsthand information from multi-sectoral communities in the Bangsamoro, consequently creating contextualized programs and services in addressing conflicts, violence, and public order in the community.
“Ito ang unang pagkakataon na may bumisita mula sa Bangsamoro government dito sa aming lugar,” an 82-year-old T’duray community leader from South Upi Maguindanao revealed
The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), through its Home Affairs Services (HAS), conducted similar activities in the provinces of Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao, and Bangsamoro Special Geographic Areas.
