The Ministry of Public Order and Safety remarkably empowered 35 local mediators coming from various municipalities of the Bangsamoro Special Geographic Areas namely, Tugunan, Kadayangan, Malidegao, Ligawasan, Kaabakan, Nabalawag, Kapalawan, and Pahmudin through its Intervention for Local Mediators held at the Elai Hotel and Recreation Center, Kidapawan City last June 26-27, 2024.
Highlights of the 2-day training included the knowledge/experience sharing of the local mediators that aimed to showcase and exchange different strategies, effective coordination mechanisms, and vital best practices in facilitating and mediating rido (family feuds).
One of the participants of the training, Mr. Parido Ambel expressed how the Ministry’s intervention significantly impacts their community, “𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘺𝘢 𝘢𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘨 𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘬𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘪 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰, 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺-𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘺 𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘨 𝘣𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳. 𝘕𝘢𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘚𝘎𝘈 𝘯𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘶𝘬𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘨𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘢𝘯,” he said.
The activity served as a platform for the local mediators in enhancing, showcasing, and sharing their skills and capabilities as empowered members of the community ultimately contributing to the efforts of the Bangsamoro Government through MPOS towards the peaceful resolution of horizontal conflicts in BARMM.
