The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) empowered an additional forty-three (43) local community members from the municipalities of Maguindanao Del Sur Province particularly in Talayan, Datu Anggal, and South Upi and Municipality of Upi, Maguindanao Del Norte through its Community-Driven Safety and Security Program held at the Nereland Resort and Event Place, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte last June 23-27, 2024.
The above-mentioned activity served as a platform for the increasing number of local community member volunteers to share, discuss, address, and engage with law enforcement agencies such as the PNP, JPST, AFP, PDEA, and MDRRMO regarding the issues and challenges that they are currently experience in their respective communities.
One of the participants accentuated the vital role of Local Community Members in fostering peace and order in their communities, “𝘕𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘬𝘢 𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘬𝘵𝘪𝘣𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘌𝘞𝘌𝘙 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰. 𝘐𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘱 𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯. 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘷𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘢𝘬𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘬𝘰𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘥𝘢𝘥.” He stated.
The vigilance and active participation of the local community members in the EWER Training symbolized the essential and integral efforts of MPOS in fostering peace and order as well as diminishing the culture of silence. Through these initiatives the local community members now have a significant role to play in contributing to the peace, order, and well being of their communities that can collectively have a meaningful impact in the Bangsamoro.
