The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS)-BARMM Special Operations Division, in its ongoing commitment to ensure public safety in the Bangsamoro Region, gathered all the EWER Core Leaders of various CSOs from the adjacent towns and Municipalities of Datu Salibo, Pagatin, Mamasapano, and Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur to conduct an Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) Core Group Meeting. The meeting was held at Alamid Resto, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur. The meeting is comprised of two key sessions, firstly is the “Community Mapping and Profiling” aimed at consolidating updates on human-induced conflicts, recent incidents, peace initiatives, and community resilience efforts. Additionally, network profiling sought to identify information sources within the region. Secondly is the “Needs-based Assessment” focused on defining the roles and goals of EWER volunteers within the SPMS Box, underlining the significance of early warning, prompt response, and community engagement.
Dr. Datusikie Ampilan from Magungaya Mindanao Inc. (MMI) encouraged the participants to sustain these efforts and initiatives to attain lasting peace and prosperity in the Bangsamoro Region. He said, “𝘋𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘐 𝘣𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘶 𝘐 𝘯𝘺𝘢𝘣𝘢 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘬 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘴𝘺𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘶 𝘣𝘶 𝘣𝘢 𝘮𝘪𝘥𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯 – 𝘯𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘢 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘰. 𝘕𝘺𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘱𝘦𝘥𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘰 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘢. This marked the beginning of our shared journey. We can only hope that what we have aspired will materialize, and benefit the vast majority. May this endeavor served as a means to attain the peaceful, progressive, and resilient Bangsamoro.)
The activity served as a collective commitment of the Ministry and EWER organizations in Maguindanao del Sur, signifying a strong foundation of collective knowledge and collaborative efforts to maintain the public safety and security in the Bangsamoro communities.
