The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS), in collaboration with the Experienced Workers Association for Progress in the Philippines (EWAPP) Inc. – BARMM Chapter successfully concluded a one-day “Safety Awareness Seminar” held at Cotabato State University on December 23, 2023.
The goal of this endeavor was to foster safety awareness among the Bangsamoro community, safeguarding them from accidents, illnesses, injuries, and potential loss of life and property by incorporating and utilizing safety measures in their daily lives.
Ms. Rica Mae, one of the participants during the seminar shared, “𝘚𝘰𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘭 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘴. 𝘕𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘬𝘢-𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘸-𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘸 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘪 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯 𝘬𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘢𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘥𝘱𝘢𝘥. 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘪-𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘯.”
The participants were able to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their tasks safely, steering clear of potential hazards that could jeopardize their well-being or that of others. The following topics were discussed during the seminar specifically:
1. Fire Safety
2. Accident Prevention: Safety at Workplaces
3. Road Safety
4. Emergency Preparedness: What to do in case of a Disaster
5. Food Safety Awareness
6. The Importance of Safety Committees
By implementing preventive measures, they not only enhance workplace safety but also contribute to the establishment of a safety-conscious culture, significantly reducing the risk of accidents and injuries in the office environment.

𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺, 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘱𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘢-𝘮𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘦𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺.” Ministry’s Special Operations Division Chief Datu Marohomsar Gaya expressed his support and appreciation in the successful conduct of the activity.
This endeavor signifies an enduring commitment to enhancing safety protocols both in the workplace and the broader community in BARMM.
EWAPP Inc. – BARMM Chapter Chairperson Engr. Modrika M. Moreover, the initiative also envisions on establishing a safety committee fostering a culture of safety in the Bangsamoro region.
