The Bangsamoro Government, through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety spearheaded the culmination of the month-long observation of the Bangsamoro History Month through a Bangsamoro Peace Forum held on March 31, 2023 at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex (SKCC), Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC), Cotabato City. Around 300 Bangsamoro from various institutions in the region attended the culmination activity.
Deputy Minister Abdulkudos Balitoc from the Ministry of Public Order and Safety highlighted the importance of both honoring the past and investing in the future of the Bangsamoro. He said, “𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘨𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺.” He also emphasized the significant role of the Bangsamoro of today in upholding the gains of the peace process.
MP Atty. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba presented and discussed the Bangsamoro Peace Process and the salient features of the Bangsamoro Electoral Code, one of the priority codes of the Bangsamoro Government followed by an open forum with the participants.
This was immediately followed by the Kwentong Bangsamoro, a panel conversation where MP Atty. Mary Ann Arnado, MP Nurredha Misuari, and MP Marjanie Macasalong, PhD. shared their experiences, contributions, and insights about the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).
MP Atty. Mary Ann Arnado recalled the remarkable moments of the peace process “We are very happy after 9 years. 𝘐 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 [𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺] 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘳 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘥. 𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘫𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯,” MP Arnado said.
MPOS’ Peace Education Division (PED) awarded the individuals who won in the contests implemented by different offices during the Bangsamoro History Month. Prizes and tokens were also given to participants who participated in the Bangsamoro history trivia questions during the culmination activity.
