Cotabato City | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) officially received a range of advance communication tools and equipment for the Early Warning, Early Response (EWER) from the SUBATRA (Suporta sa Bangsamoro Transition) Justice and Society Project (SJSP) on March 14, 2024 (Thursday).
In a ceremony held at the SUBATRA office in Cotabato City, marked the official handover of a cutting-edge communication equipment to MPOS consisting of high-speed satellite internet devices, global communication network radios, and two-way portable radios for the EWER mechanism. These tools are expected to revolutionize the Ministry’s Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) network, particularly in remote island provinces and municipalities within BARMM.
MPOS’ Director General Atty. Al-Rashid L. Balt, emphasized the significance of these technological enhancements in bolstering the operational efficiency of the EWER network across the region. “𝘈𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘯𝘢 𝘪𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘚𝘜𝘉𝘈𝘛𝘙𝘈 𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘶𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘺. Significantly, the signing of documents during the ceremony ensured a seamless transition of the equipment into the MPOS and its EWER network across the region.
Ms. Bai Shaima Baraguir, KE II Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of SUBATRA, stressed the importance of these tools in fulfilling the overall development in the region. “𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) is a 5-year programme, funded by the European Union, and co-financed by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), through an Agreement with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines. It aims to strengthen the operational capacities of the Bangsamoro government contributing to the region’s advancement and stability.
