He acknowledged the support of MPOS, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform-Lanao (MAFAR-LDS) for providing the cooperative with the needed tilapia fingerlings, crafting of fish cages and donated fish feeds when the fish farming project was started in Decemebr 2023; and to the local government unit of Butig, Lanao del Sur for the opportunity and continued support.
The aquaculture livelihood project, carried out with the extensive and unwavering support from MAFAR-LDS, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Butig and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Pindolonan, serves as a significant pilot livelihood in Lake Butig for the development of Butig, Lanao del Sur. This initiative is part of the support of MPOS to the rehabilitation of Butig and also aligns with LGU Butig’s goal of promoting and reshaping Butig’s image from a conflict-affected into peaceful and progresing area, and an agro-eco tourism destination.
This endeavor, as part of the peacebuilding, reconciliation, and unification programs of the ministry, shows the genuine support and commitment of the Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of Public Order and Safety to help conflict-affected communities in the Bangsamoro Region.
The SDF 2020 – Butig Rehabilitation Program exemplifies MPOS’ commitment to peacebuilding and the Bangsamoro Government’s aspirations to uplift conflict-affected communities in the Bangsamoro Region, as outlined in the Bangsamoro Organic Law to rebuild, rehabilitate, and develop conflict-affected communities.
