Cotabato City| To support the rehabilitation and development of Bangsamoro conflict-affected areas, the Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) through its Special Development Fund (SDF) in partnership with Kutawato Greenland Initiatives, Inc. (KGI) facilitated a three-day activity entitled “Palimbang Rehabilitation Program: Enhancement Training on Muslim Delicacies” for the Unified Palimbang Survivors Marketing Cooperative. The activity was held from January 22 to 24, 2024, at the Academia de Technologia in Mindanao, Cotabato City.
The program focuses on comprehensive rehabilitation efforts, including the establishment of cooperatives, livelihood support, and community healing. The training was able to equip the participants with valuable skills and entrepreneurial knowledge, empowering them for economic revival and enhancing self-sufficiency in Bangsamoro conflict-affected communities.
MPOS’ Special Operations Division Chief – Designate Datu Marohomsar A. Gaya emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to the restoration and fostering of community healing through various interventions, stating, “𝘐𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘰 𝘎𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵. The three-day training specifically focused on making various Muslim delicacies such as bruwa, kumukunsi, tinagtag, tipas, and additional recipes were also introduced. The training sessions include food safety, proper labeling, packaging, production, usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), tools and equipment.
Ms. Samrah A. Ms. Ruthzael T. KGI Chairperson Danilo T. Mocsin stressed the importance of collaboration among various agencies. The SDF-Palimbang Rehabilitation Program provided valuable skills and knowledge to the participants by creating sustainable income-generating opportunities, promoting local entrepreneurship, and facilitating diverse business development within the community. The SDF program is under Article XIV, Section 2, of the Bangsamoro Organic Law to rebuild, rehabilitate, and develop conflict-affected communities.
