The Ministry of Public Order and Safety through the Ministry’s Home Affairs Services – Law Enforcement Coordination Division (HAS-LECD) organized an orientation on Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) to fifty (50) key personnel of the Ministry. The activity was held on Tuesday (January 31) at Kutawato Hall, Em Manor, Cotabato City.
The activity aimed to provide an opportunity for the MPOS personnel to understand and apply the concept of CSOP in the conduct of the Ministry’s program, project, and services. Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) is a philosophy that promotes organizational strategies and systemic partnerships with the community in addressing public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.
NAPOLCOM’s Chief of Technical Service Division Atty. Fahd A. Candao discussed the fundamentals of community policing and service orientation to MPOS personnel. He said, “𝘒𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘢-𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘯𝘢 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘪𝘭𝘢 (𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴) 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘣𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘨𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯. This orientation marked the beginning of a series of community partnerships and activities under the law enforcement coordination function of the Ministry.
