In an encouraging development, five conflicting families resulting from the May 2022 election in Mangudadatu Municipality, Maguindanao del Sur have successfully resolved their differences through peaceful reconciliation. The settlement ceremony took place at Brgy. Paitan, Mangudadatu, Maguindanao del Sur, BARMM, this Saturday on June 17, 2023. This commendable achievement was made possible through the collective efforts of the Bangsamoro Government and various stakeholders.
In a momentous ceremonial settlement, the parties involved in the conflict have formalized their reconciliation by signing a comprehensive settlement agreement. By affixing their signatures to the document, the parties displayed their sincerity and commitment to uphold the terms of the agreement, providing assurance to all stakeholders that no further conflicts or acts of violence will arise from the concerned parties. With the agreement now in writing, there is a tangible framework in place to guide future interactions and ensure the continuation of a peaceful environment.

The mediation efforts by MILF-PolCom were a direct outcome of the Ministry’s capacity development intervention for local mediators in Maguindanao province.
As one of the key actors in achieving this settlement, MILF-POLCom Chairman Sandatu D.
