AMID HOLY WEEK | A total of 96 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the Basilan Provincial Jail received assistance on 01 April 2021, through the joint activity of the Ministry Public Order and Safety (MPOS) and Office of the Member of the Parliament Hussein P. Munoz.
The activity is dubbed, “Provision of Hygiene and Dignity Kits for the Detainees”. Each hygiene kit contains alcohol, face masks, face towel, vitamins, deodorant, toothpaste, shampoo, soap and sanitary pads for female PDLs.
Hon. Hussein P. Munoz, the Minister of the MPOS and Member of the Parliament, led the activity. In his opening message, he emphasized that the Ministry is doing the activity because of the call of the public service and our commitment to uphold our mandate for public safety.
OIC Jail Warden, Nul Asmawil, expressed his gratitude for the Ministry and the Bangsamoro Government for visiting and for not neglecting the Provincial Jail of Basilan. “Our people badly need your support, especially this time of pandemic”, he stressed.
The same activity was already conducted in various jail facilities in the Provinces of Maguindanao and Lanao Del Sur. It will also be implemented in the other jail facilities in the Island Provinces of BARMM soon.
