Through the joint effort of the Ministry of Public Order and Safety in cooperation with the Sultan sa Barongis Local Government Unit, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF)-Political Committee (PolCom), Bangsamoro United Forces Mediator Authority (BUFMA), and other concerned stakeholders, a reconciliation was achieved between two (2) disputing families during the rido settlement at Barangay Darampua, Sultan sa Barongis (SSB), Maguindanao del Sur, on July 31, 2023 (Monday).
After a series of negotiations, the conflicts involved two families in Brgy. Darampua was resolved through the signing of a mutually beneficial comprehensive agreement.
“𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘶𝘬𝘶𝘩𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘰, 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯. 𝘐𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘨𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘮𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘢𝘯,” stated by MILF- 106 Brigade Commander, Ibrahim Dagandal. He further expressed his gratitude to the Ministry for its continued support in championing peace and unity within the BARMM region. “𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘴𝘢 𝘔𝘗𝘖𝘚 𝘴𝘢 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢 𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘯 𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘰 (𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵) 𝘯𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘨𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘢,” he added.
To mark the reconciliation and unification of the warring parties, MPOS personnel administered the reading and signing of the agreement, which was followed by an oath-taking on the holy Qur’an facilitated by the local mediators. All are aimed at ensuring the firm commitment to non-recurrence of the conflicts.
As a symbolic gesture of the newly forged unity, the ceremony culminated with a solemn exchange of ceremonial handshakes and embraces between the once-warring parties. This collective effort signifies a momentous step towards lasting peace and harmony between the two families involved.

The rido settlement is facilitated by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Division- Community Affairs Officers in Maguindanao who dedicatedly ensure the smooth resolution between families and collaboration between partners. Moreover, the Ministry remains committed to pursuit its mandates and diligently engage in peacebuilding, reconciliation, and unification efforts in the Bangsamoro.
