The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in close coordination with the respective local government units, law enforcement agencies, local mediators’ groups, religious and traditional leaders, and other community partners in the municipalities of Barira, Buldon, and Matanog successfully settled four (4) prominent rido (family feud) on the abovementioned areas on February 8, 9, and 12, 2023 respectively.
On February 8 and 9, two (2) rido cases from Barira and Buldon were settled officially at Brgy. Aratuc Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte. During the ceremony, both parties signed an amicable agreement to resolve the conflict between families and put an end to it.
Meanwhile on February 12, two (2) families from Matanog, Maguindanao del Norte were also concluded peacefully. Based on the agreement, the settlement ceremony was held in Malabang Lanao del Sur. Both families took an oath on the Holy Quran to show their sincerity and reconciliation, stating their intention of not engaging in any violence and to live harmoniously.
Rido Settlement is one of the major programs of the Ministry towards ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful Bangsamoro.
