Marantao, Lanao del Sur | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in partnership with the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS), recently conducted the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹-𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿, with the support of the Police Regional Office – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) and Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office which took place on March 19, 2023, at the Ragayan Training Center in Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
The comprehensive rido profiling is an initiative of the Ministry to document the causes and effects of rido, generate a data-driven analysis as basis on policy making and programming, as well as formulate interventions to mitigate and address the problem of rido and other horizontal conflicts.
“𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘰 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘚𝘶𝘳.” PMAJ Alinaid S. Moner, the Chief of the Provincial Community Assistance Development Unit of LDS-PPO, who represented the Provincial Director of LDS-PPO said during the activity.
Around 40 police officers from the Municipal Police Stations (MPS) in Lanao del Sur actively participated the activity. This intervention also recognizes the essential role of stakeholders, such as the communities, Local Government Units (LGU), Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) such as PNP and AFP, traditional and religious leaders, among others, as primary actors who possess knowledge of the situation in the community.
The same activity is also implemented in other Bangsamoro provinces and areas, facilitated by the Ministry’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Division and Community Affairs Officers in the province.
