Jolo, Sulu | The Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) in partnership with the Office of Member of the Parliament (MP) Sahie S. Udjah conducted a Peacebuilding Training for forty (40) Former Combatants and Widows of Martyrs from Sulu Province. The activity was held on August 5-6, 2022 at Notre Dame of Jolo Review Center, Jolo, Sulu.
The activity aimed to extend the government services, programs, and activities of the Bangsamoro Government to vulnerable communities in the region. The conduct of this program is one of the government commitments to sustain the gains of the Bangsamoro peace process towards normalization. The activity was implemented through MP Udjah’s Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF).

This activity became an avenue for the participants to share their narratives and realities as Mujahideen and widows of martyrs during the period of arm-struggle.
At the end of the training, the participants received financial assistance amounting to Php 10,000.00 each in support of their livelihood and transition to a conflict-free community.
MPOS believes that through this intervention the beneficiaries will become viable partners and peace advocates of their respective communities in sustaining the gains of the peace process.
